I'm Jeffrey Bernhard. I started off on Wall Street and ended up selling my private label business in 2011. I then traveled to Central America and Leon captivated me. The people are incredibly friendly. It’s a university town and a center of Central American culture. One thing led to another, and I began traveling the unpaved backroads of the countryside in search of artisan leather tanners and leather masters — originally to have custom holsters made for my collection of vintage revolvers.When you grow up on a ranch in Texas, you quickly learn that fashion is only as good as its function and durability. That’s what we strive for in every piece we make in Leon for JBernhard Designs. Our line now includes fantastic leather, hide and skins belts, holsters, handbags, satchels, clutches as well as cases for Mac Book Air and iPad Air.

Rugged beauty… handcrafted authenticity with leathers and skins that are sourced from remote villages. At JBernhard Designs, we value our artisans. We respect their tradition of making everything by hand and making things to last. We feel we’ve married the best of contemporary American design with time-honored methods of constructing by hand.
